NBA free agency rumors: Gerald Green to meet with Rockets, multiple teams interested

Gerald Green plans to meet with the Rockets when the free agency period begins Sunday, according to a report from ESPN.

Multiple teams are expected to pursue Green this offseason, the report says.

Free agent Gerald Green plans to meet with Houston in Los Angeles on July 1, league sources tell ESPN. The athletic, 3-point specialist has multiple suitors.

Green averaged 12.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in 41 appearances for the Rockets last season. He also shot 36.9 percent from 3-point range.

Green began 2017-18 with the Bucks but was released before the regular season. He signed a one-year contract with Houston in late December.

Green has played for eight teams during his 11 seasons in the NBA.

The Rockets finished the 2017-18 regular season with a 65-17 record. They held a 3-2 lead on the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals but dropped the last two games of the series and were eliminated.

Green averaged 16 minutes and 6.3 points per game during Houston’s playoff run.
