Austin Rivers will not enter free agency this summer.

The 25-year-old guard is opting into the final year of his contract with the Clippers, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times. Rivers' father, Doc, is the current Clippers head coach.

Rivers’ playing time increased last season after the Clippers traded All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Rockets in June 2017. He averaged a career-high 15.1 points and four assists per game for Los Angeles in 2017-18.

Rivers was selected by New Orleans with the 10th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He played two and a half seasons with the team before he was dealt to the Clippers in January 2015.

The Clippers finished last season with a 42-40 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2010-11.
