The Knicks know who they want to take with the No. 3 pick on Thursday and it's not Darius Garland.

New York is "locked" in on taking Duke forward RJ Barrett with its first-round selection, according to ESPN.

Garland had a private workout with the team Wednesday and New York had been "seriously considering" taking the Vanderbilt guard with the No. 3 pick, according to another report from ESPN.

But it appears the team wants Barrett and not Garland.

Barrett was the consensus No. 1 overall prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports, and projected by many to be the No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft during points this season.

He averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists for Duke this season, but his shooting gave some teams pause as he hit 30.8 percent of his shots from beyond the arc and was passed by teammate Zion Williamson as the consensus No. 1 pick.

Memphis has also locked in on a player, as it is looking at Murray State's Ja Morant with the No. 2 pick, which means Barrett is there for the taking for the Knicks.

Garland played five games for Vanderbilt this season and there are several teams interested in trading up to No. 4 in hopes of drafting him, according to multiple reports.

The Timberwolves, Celtics and Hawks have all expressed interested in moving up to No. 4, according to reports.
