Carsen Edwards made a big announcement Sunday.

The Purdue star declared for the 2019 NBA Draft on Twitter, thanking friends, family, coaches and teammates for a great college experience.

"For as long as I can remember, it has been a dream to play in the NBA," Edwards wrote. "I feel that the time is now. I will be entering the 2019 NBA Draft with an agent. This is the beginning of a new journey and I am thankful for everyone's support and I'm ready for the next chapter in my life."

Edwards was astounding through four rounds of this year's NCAA Tournament. The junior guard's Boilermakers fell to Virginia in the Elite Eight, but he was still named the Most Outstanding Player of the South Regional.

Edwards, a two-time Big Ten All-First Team selection, averaged 34.8 points per game and put on two 42-point scoring performances during Purdue's tournament run.

He made an NCAA Tournament record 28 3-pointers in four games, breaking Michigan forward Glen Rice's mark of 27 from 1989.

The high volume shooter wasn't viewed as a highly regarded prospect entering the tournament, but he may have played himself into a late-first or early second-round selection.

Where the 6-1 guard will go in the draft remains to be seen, but quite a few franchises could be interested in such a dynamic playmaker.
