The Suns will apparently not consider trading the No. 1 overall pick for Kawhi Leonard, according to a report from The Arizona Republic.

Multiple reports surfaced Friday saying Leonard no longer wants to play in San Antonio. The Ringer reported later in the day Phoenix was expected to explore a potential deal for Leonard in exchange for a package centering around the 2018 NBA Draft’s top overall pick.

But, the Suns are not expected to move the pick for Leonard, according to The Arizona Republic’s report.

The Suns will not, despite what you might have read elsewhere, trade the No. 1 pick for Kawhi Leonard. Not happening.

The Suns are expected to select Arizona big man Deandre Ayton with the No. 1 pick. The 7-foot-1 center averaged 20.1 points and 11.6 rebounds per game as a freshman. Phoenix could also draft European star Luka Doncic.

The Suns fired Earl Watson in late October after the team opened the season 0-3 and assistant Jay Triano finished the year as the interim coach. He was replaced by former Jazz assistant Igor Kokoskov in early May.

The Suns also hold the draft’s 16th pick.
