The Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox both fell to 1-3 to begin the MLB season.

The Nationals and Red Sox saw their slow starts to the reduced 60-game campaign continue.

Reigning World Series champions Washington fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1, while the Red Sox were beaten 7-4 by the New York Mets on Monday.

It came on a day when the Miami Marlins-Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees-Philadelphia Phillies games were postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak.
