NASCAR bumps up Bank of America 500 start time due to threat of rain

NASCAR isn't taking any chances with Mother Nature.

The start time of Sunday’s NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway has been moved from 2:00 p.m. ET up to 1:00 p.m. ET due to the threat of inclement weather.

According to NASCAR's track release issued Saturday, the drivers meeting will take place at 11 a.m. ET before introductions at 12:20 p.m. ET. The green flag is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET.

NASCAR's Round of 12 playoffs kick off Sunday, with Denny Hamlin starting from the pole and Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Matt Kenseth starting alongside him on the front row.
