NASCAR at Atlanta: TV schedule, forecast, entry list for Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500
February 20, 2018 01:53 MYT
Sunday's Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 could be the final race on Atlanta Motor Speedway's popular and historic racing surface.
The track was scheduled to undergo a repave following last season's race, much to the chagrin of drivers and race fans, but the track announced it would delay construction until the track's 2018 NASCAR tripleheader is completed then re-visit plans of possible pavement facelift.
The 1.54-mile asphalt track is the second-oldest racing surface on the circuit and is a track favored by many NASCAR drivers. The 21-year-old surface is also known for being a bumpy track because of sealed cracks in the asphalt, but the old, rough and weathered surface allows for side-by-side racing in multiple grooves.
Austin Dillon has already locked up a playoff berth with his Daytona 500 win. Can he capture another win Sunday, or will reigning series champion Martin Truex Jr. continue his dominance at 1.5-mile tracks?
Last year saw Kevin Harvick dominate the first two stages of the Cup Series at Atlanta, but a late speeding penalty against the No. 4 team allowed Brad Keselowski to swoop in for the checkered flag. Keselowski passed Kyle Larson for the lead with six laps to go for his first win of 2017.
Here are the key dates, times and a look at the complete schedule for NASCAR at Atlanta headlined by the Cup Series Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
