Amir Khan’s next fight will take on a whole new meaning.

Khan is set to face “Crazy Dog” Dae Sung Park at ONE: COLLISION COURSE II, a previously recorded event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium that airs this Friday, 25 December.

He will enter the Circle just days after the heartbreaking loss of his father, Tajudeen, who had been battling brain cancer since mid-2020.

The Singaporean athlete announced the news of his father’s passing on his Instagram page, and he quickly received widespread support from the world of mixed martial arts.

ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan shared her sentiments, as did ONE Ring Announcer Dom Lau and ONE Commentator Mitch “The Dragon” Chilson.

“My condolences to you and your family,” Xiong commented on Khan’s post. “Take care. Remember we are one.”

I’m so sorry Amir. You have my deepest and most sincere condolences,” Lau wrote.

“RIP. He will be missed,” Chilson added.

Hundreds of other comments poured in from fans and fellow athletes.

Khan decided to continue with his scheduled fight this Friday because he knows how much his performances – especially his knockout wins – meant to his father.

In fact, the lightweight brought a smile to his ailing dad's face in his last appearance during October, when he defeated Rahul “The Kerala Krusher” Raju by first-round KO.

Now, he will now look to do the same against Park on Friday.
