C.J. McCollum torched the nets early against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, leading to a new Portland Trail Blazers record.
McCollum poured in 28 points in the first quarter of the midweek NBA clash — on nine-of-10 shooting from the field — to set a franchise record for points scored in the opening period.
The 28 points were also the most scored by any player in a single quarter so far this season.
Trail Blazers guard McCollum entered the game averaging 21.4 points.
