Felipe Massa responded to former team-mate Lance Stroll saying he received "no guidance whatsoever" from the Brazilian by stating "better not to comment".

Williams went with a mixture of youth and experience last season, Stroll making his Formula One debut and Massa delaying his retirement after Valtteri Bottas moved to Mercedes.

Stroll told Autosport Massa did not pass on his wisdom during their time as colleagues, saying "I don't know why people seem to think there was a coach or a mentor thing going on."

Massa clearly read Stroll's comments with interest before tweeting the Canadian and his former employers stating: "better not to comment... @lance_stroll @WilliamsRacing."

Sergey Sirotkin will take the retired Massa's seat this year.
