Manly Sea Eagles stunned Cronulla Sharks with a golden-point triumph, while Penrith Panthers fought back to defeat Canberra Raiders in a day of late drama in the NRL.
Struggling Manly have fallen well short of the finals this season, but they provided a shock in an extra-time 33-32 win at the Sharks on Sunday, thanks to Daly Cherry-Evans' field goal.
Valentine Holmes put Cronulla in front early on, a lead that was restored by Wade Graham after Shaun Lane hit back for the Sea Eagles in a frantic opening.
Manly then turned the match on its head in a four-minute spell, with tries from Dylan Walker and Lane, before Jesse Ramien brought the Sharks back to within two points on the stroke of half-time.
The break did little to stem the flow of tries, as a Tom Trbojevic effort was cancelled out by Aaron Woods and then Matt Moylan, with Joel Thompson crossing to take the game to extra-time.
Cherry-Evans, who created Thompson's try with a grubber kick, had missed a chance late in normal time, but he made sure in the additional period to clinch the points.
While Cronulla missed the opportunity to move away from the group of teams tied on 26 points just inside the top eight, the Panthers pulled clear.
Comeback specialists Penrith looked in trouble late in the second half as they trailed the visiting Raiders, but a sublime rally saw three home tries in the final 11 minutes and a 40-31 triumph.
James Tamou opened the scoring in the first minute for the hosts, before Canberra took complete control and five tries - including a Joseph Leilua hat-trick - with only two in response had the Panthers 30-18 down with less than 25 minutes remaining.
But Penrith rallied, scoring with Tyrone Peachey's second of the night, before the incredible finish in which Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Josh Mansour and James Maloney all crossed.
