Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has secured his spot at the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan next month.

The 27-year-old made the cut after finishing in the top 60 on the Olympic Ranking at the end of the men's qualification period on Tuesday.

He is set to be joined by national compatriot Kelly Tan, who is currently ranked 41st in the women's Olympic Ranking ahead of the cut-off date on June 28.

It will be the second time for them to appear at the Olympics, having competed in the Rio 2016 edition where they finished 47th and 51st respectively.

"Representing the country is always an honour and doing it on the Olympic stage for a second time is even more special. I'm definitely looking forward to it," he was quoted saying by Bernama.

The Tokyo Olympics golf competition will be held at the Kasumigaseki Country Club, Saitama.
