LeBron James finally made his preseason debut Tuesday, but the Cavaliers got some bad news about their star forward.
Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue told reporters (via ESPN.com) that James did not practice Wednesday and was ruled out of Friday's preseason finale against the Magic due to a sore left ankle. Lue also said he was "not sure" if their forward would be ready to play Oct. 17 during the Cavs' season opener.
"Got treatment all day today, so I'm not sure if we should be concerned or not," Lue said. "But it's pretty sore today so we'll just see what happens."
James had been recovering from an ankle injury he suffered during training camp and then he tweaked it again while playing in the Cavs' preseason game against the Bulls. Lue indicated that the news Wednesday didn't sit well with the 13-time All-Star.
"(He's) pretty mad, pretty pissed off," Lue said of James. "But I mean, it is what it is."
