Dorian Finney-Smith insisted that the Los Angeles Lakers must stick together after suffering their third-straight NBA loss against the San Antonio Spurs.

Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 23 points and eight rebounds as they beat the Lakers 126-102 in their first game back due to postponements due to the wildfires in the area.

Devin Vassell and Stephon Castle also scored 23 points, while Harrison Barnes scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Spurs took control of the contest late on.

Anthony Davis had 30 points and 13 rebounds, and LeBron James added 18 points and eight assists for the Lakers, but they were unable to halt their losing streak.

The Spurs defeated the Lakers for the first time in three games between the teams this season, outscoring Los Angeles 73-40 in the second half.

Austin Reaves scored 12 points and eight assists for Los Angeles, who led by as many as 11 points in the third quarter before falling apart over the final 16 minutes of the game.

Los Angeles suffered setbacks against the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks, leaving them at 20-17, and now sitting seventh in the Western Conference standings.

"We got to stick together," Finney-Smith said. "Long season, it's a real long season. All that it takes is one good win to turn this thing around and that's usually how it goes.

"First of all, we got to be better defensively. Shots are going to go in. We're putting the work in as a team. They're going to fall, so all we got to do is focus on that end of the ball.

"I feel like these last couple of games, we kind of took steps back defensively since I've been here, and we got to fix it.

"We didn't execute the game plan like we were supposed to. But the coaches gave us the right answers to the test. We just didn't use the study guide."

The Lakers have never lost four consecutive games under head coach JJ Redick, and will be hoping to return to winning ways against the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
