The Kinrara Oval's uncertain future as the home of cricket in Malaysia has been settled, the Malaysian Youth and Sports Ministry announced on Friday.
According to a press statement, the Cabinet of Malaysia issued a special warrant to allow the Kinrara Oval to remain at its current location, which was initially set to undergo redevelopment after its lease expired in October.

It also stated that further discussion would take place involving the Ministry, land owner Perumahan Kinrara Berhad (PKB) and the Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) to find a win-win solution for all parties.
The latest development was good news for Malaysian cricket fraternity following weeks of uncertainty that attracted national and international attention, including from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Constructed in 2003, the Kinrara Oval hosted several international matches over the years such as the 2006/07 DLF Cup, the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2017 SEA Games, and was widely recognised as a world-class cricket facility.
