Towns recorded 40 points and 16 rebounds but hobbled off the court in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Wizards before heading to the locker room. He didn't play during overtime but the Timberwolves still prevailed with a 135-130 win in Minneapolis.

According to ESPN, which cited unidentified league sources, "there is optimism about the MRI results" after Towns' right knee was examined but a timeline for his return remains unknown.

Still, the Timberwolves (31-35) should fare just fine hosting the league-worst Knicks (13-53) at 8 p.m. ET.
