Hull FC made light work of Catalans Dragons as they cruised to a resounding 50-10 victory to consolidate third position in Super League.

Catalans went down 51-8 at the KCOM Stadium in the Challenge Cup on May 30, but they made a bright start in Perpignan when Sam Tomkins went over early on.

But on the back of their fine performance against Castleford Tigers last time out, Hull were in inspired form, and had turned things around by the 18th minute.

With Marc Sneyd's kicking superb, Joe Westerman, Andre Savelio and Josh Griffin all got on the scoresheet before half-time, with the latter two tries coming after Lewis Tierney had reduced Hull's lead to four points.

Any hopes of a Catalans comeback were swiftly extinguished after the interval - Kieran Buchanan capping off a slick team move before Ratu Naulago ran the length of the field to go over.

Griffin helped himself to a second try on the hour mark, with full-back Jamie Shaul darting through a parting Catalans defence to add further gloss to an emphatic win that sees Hull move four points clear of their opponents.

FULL TIME! A dominant display by the Airlie Birds in the South of France, and we move clear in third place! Tries came thanks to a brace from Josh Griffin as well as tries from Albert Kelly, Joe Westerman, Andre Savelio, Kieran Buchanan, Ratu Naulago & Jamie Shaul FC 50 CD 10 pic.twitter.com/TZ54RlCDTz
