It was nothing short of a miracle Klay Thompson played for the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, according to team-mate Draymond Green.
Thompson suffered a high sprain with bruising on his left ankle in the series opener, the Warriors listing him as questionable to feature on Sunday.
However, he played 34 minutes and contributed 20 points as the Warriors recorded a 122-103 victory, putting the defending champions 2-0 up in the best-of-seven series.
"He wasn't supposed to play," Green said after the victory at the Oracle Arena. "But that's Klay. He only knows one way.
"I thought there was no chance Klay was playing. I saw him [Saturday] and saw his ankle, and I was like, 'yeah, no chance'."
Thompson was hurt in the first quarter of the Warriors' 124-114 triumph in Game 1, yet still played 45 minutes as overtime was required to settle the outcome.
After losing twice on the road, the Cavaliers will hope to kick-start their title bid when they host Game 3 at the Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday.
