Rachel Arnold and S. Sivasangari booked their spot in the squash women's doubles quarter-finals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games after beating Sarah Cardwell and Christine Nunn 2-1 on today.

Despite losing the first set 10-11, the Malaysian pair, aged 21 and 19 years old respectively, took the final two sets 11-6, 11-5 to emerge victorious in 38 minutes and knock their Australian counterparts out.

They progressed out of Pool A alongside world champions Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy, whom they managed to beat yesterday.

At ninth place, they were also the lowest seed to reach the quarter-finals, which will be played on Friday.

In the men's doubles event, Syafiq Kamal and Ng Eain Yow lost their first Pool G match to England's Daryl Selby and Adrian Waller, while Nafiizwan Adnan and Ivan Yuen are scheduled to take on New Zealand's Lance Beddoes-Evan Williams in Pool H later today.
