Lee Hup Wei and Nauraj Singh Randhawa secured their spots in the men's high jump final at the 2018 Commonwealth Games after passing the qualifying stage on Monday.
Lee, whose personal best is 2.28m, had a relatively straightforward qualification in Group A as he breezed through it until the 2.21m mark, the only height he required a second attempt to clear the bar.
As for Nauraj, who holds the national record of 2.30m set in April 2017, had a nervy high jump in Group B, needing three attempts to leap over a height of 2.15m.
The 26-year-old then almost failed at the 2.21m mark, but eventually pulled through with his third attempt to edge through to the final.
The Malaysian duo, who secured a one-two finish at the 2017 SEA Games, will compete for medals on Wednesday, where they will face stiff competition from the likes of 2014 bronze medallist Michael Mason and England's Robert Grabarz, who set this season's best of 2.31m.
