Georgia Tech guard Josh Okogie will remain in the NBA Draft. He announced the decision on his Twitter account Monday morning.
“I’m extremely humbled and grateful for this opportunity to fulfill my childhood dream,” Okogie’s announcement said in part. “To (Georgia Tech) coach (Josh) Pastner and the Georgia Tech men’s basketball staff, thank you for believing in me and allowing me to represent Georgia Tech to the highest standard as a student athlete.”
Okogie had two years of colligate eligibility remaining. He averaged 18.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game on a Yellow Jackets team that went 13-19 in 2017-18.
Okogie knocked down 38.2 percent of his 3-point attempts over his two seasons at Georgia Tech.
"Josh is a tremendous young man and an excellent student-athlete," Pastner said in a statement. “We will miss him in our program in many respects, from his performance on the court to the energy he plays with and brought to our team.”
Okogie is projected to be selected 28th overall in the latest Sporting News’ 2018 NBA Mock Draft.
