Fill wins Combined title as Muffat-Jeandet triumphs in Wengen

Peter Fill won the Alpine Combined World Cup title as Victor Muffat-Jeandet prevailed in Wengen.

Frenchman Muffat-Jeandet claimed victory in Switzerland as Vincent Kriechmayr, who led after the downhill run, crashed out in the slalom.

Kriechmayr clocked the fastest time in the downhill with a time of one minute and 43.66 seconds, giving him a lead of over two and a half seconds.

But, after recording a run of 1:46.21 in the downhill, Muffat-Jeandet moved into the lead with an impressive slalom time of 49.08 secs.

And Kriechmayr could not respond as his run ended after just a few gates, giving Muffat-Jeandet maximum points ahead of Pavel Trikhichev and Fill.

Fill's third-place finish means he wins the Combined title with 140 points, 30 ahead of Kjetil Jansrud, who could only manage fourth in the race.
