Jeetan Patel has had his role as England's spin bowling consultant extended for the tours of South Africa and Sri Lanka.

The former New Zealand international was part of the backroom team for the five-match Twenty20 series against the Black Caps last month, which England won 3-2.

Patel is to now also link up with Joe Root's team ahead of the first of four Tests in South Africa, which starts on December 26, and will be part of the staff for the three ODIs and T20Is against the Proteas.

England then play a two-Test series in Sri Lanka beginning in March next year. Patel played 43 ODIs, 24 Tests and 11 T20 Internationals over an 11-year period.

Great to have you on board again, Jeets!
