The Kelantan Warriors put up a strong fight in front of their home crowd before losing to the Kuala Lumpur Thunder as the Emas Anuar Sepak Takraw League (STL) visited Kota Bahru for Gameweek Six.

The home side, currently stuck in the relegation zone, suffered a 17-21, 20-22 straight set loss to the defending champions at the Panji Sports Complex on Friday.

The win allowed the Thunder to temporarily close the gap on the ATM Guardians before the latter restored their six-point lead at the top with a 21-15, 21-14 victory over the Negeri Sembilan Antlers on the same day.

At the other end of the league table, the Johor Tigris boosted their survival chances by defeating the Perak Bison 2-1.

Led by Thai tekong Siwatbanchan Seekhwa making his STL Premier debut, they came out on top in a thrilling 25-23, 16-21, 21-13 match.

In another relegation showdown, the Bomba Fighters rallied back from going a set down to defeat the Selangor Pistons 21-19, 24-25, 15-21.

It was the Fighters' fourth straight victory since adding Thai striker Rusdee Leerem to their roster as they climbed further away from the relegation zone.
