Parramatta Eels made a stunning start to life at their new Bankwest Stadium with a 51-6 demolition of Wests Tigers.

Mitchell Moses and Clinton Gutherson, who were both offered three-year contract extensions this week, combined for the first points – Gutherson offloading for Moses to run 70 metres and claim a piece of history.

Half-back Moses went on to kick seven of nine conversions in a superb individual performance, while his opener sparked a blitz of five tries in 16 minutes.

Brad Takairangi and Jaeman Salmon had also gone over either side of a Michael Jennings double by the time Wests got on the board through Ben Matulino – his 35th-miniute score on the end of a Luke Brooks grubber converted by Esan Marsters.

It meant a 30-6 half-time scoreline and the visitors' misery continued, with Oregon Kaufusi, Reed Mahoney, Maika Sivo and Shaun Lane all getting in on the act.

Fittingly, it fell to Moses to complete the scoring with a 30-metre field goal.
