Juan Miguel Echevarria stole the show at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm with an incredible leap of 8.83 metres in the long jump.
Cuban Echevarria already held the lead in the competition with a jump of 8.50m when he produced an effort that would have put him fifth on the all-time list for longest jumps.
Unfortunately for the 19-year-old, wind assistance of +2.1m/s meant his effort was not eligible for the record books. The legal limit is 2.0m/s.
Mike Powell's jump of 8.95m in Tokyo in 1991 still stands as the world record.
