The rich keep getting richer in college basketball.
The Duke Blue Devils have reportedly received a verbal commitment from five-star recruit Joey Baker, according to Scout.com. Baker, 247 Sports' No. 20 overall prospect and No. 6 small forward in the 2019 recruiting class, is Duke's first verbal commitment from that class.
The 6-7 forward, a star at Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian School, told Scout.com he wanted to get the recruiting process out of the way.
"I've always been in good touch with (Duke coaches) since June and coaches could contact us," Baker said. "I feel like I just knew. I didn't want to waste my time or anyone else's."
According to Scout.com, North Carolina, Kansas, NC State, Florida and Wake Forest had all shown interest in Baker, who had 19 scholarship offers in total (according to 247 Sports).
