This feud is over.
T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt have been showing each other no love since Dillashaw left Team Alpha Male to train with Duane Ludwig and hone his striking, and the hatred only intensified after Dillashaw knocked out Garbrandt at UFC 217.
Well, they probably will not be mending fences anytime soon as Dillashaw once again knocked out Garbrandt on Saturday to retain his bantamweight belt and move to 16-3 in his career.
Dillashaw caught Garbrandt with a shot early on in the fight and stalked the 27-year-old Garbrandt until he landed another big blow which was the beginning of the end.
Once he got him fully off-balance, Dillashaw backed Garbrandt into the cage and started delivering blow after blow which forced referee Herb Dean to stop the fight.
This is the third time Dillashaw has successfully defended the bantamweight title, though he has not made a defence since a defeat of Renan Barao in 2015. He lost his belt to Dominick Cruz by decision in 2016.
In the co-main event of the evening, Henry Cejudo used the wrestling which helped him win a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics to take down 12-time defending flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson five times and win his belt.
Cejudo won by split decision by 48-47, 47-48 and 48-47. It is likely Johnson will get an immediate rematch.
In the undercard, Renato Moicano used a stunning shot to lock up a submission victory over the number five featherweight in the world in Cub Swanson.
JJ Aldrich also defeated Polyana Viana by unanimous decision, as did Thiago Santos over Kevin Holland.
