Clippers guard Patrick Beverley was cleared to return to basketball Friday, nearly three months ahead of schedule.

Dr. Walter Lowe told ESPN that Beverley has had a "remarkable" recovery after undergoing season-ending surgery on Nov. 22. The surgery was to repair a microfracture and torn meniscus and he was given a timetable of nine months to recover.

"I saw Pat [Thursday] and ordered a new MRI approximately six months out from his microfracture biocartilage repair and lateral meniscus repair," Lowe said.

"His recovery has been remarkable and I have cleared him to return to all basketball activities. This speedy recovery is a testament to Pat's diligence to the comprehensive rehabilitation program between Houston and LA."

Beverley appeared in only 11 games during the 2017-18 season, averaging 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

The 29-year-old played his first five NBA seasons with the Rockets before he was traded last summer.
