Sam Burns earned his second PGA Tour title in five months after winning the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Burns claimed the Valspar Championship in May and added another Tour crown to his collection thanks to Sunday's one-stroke victory in Jackson, Mississippi.

The 25-year-old used a back-nine birdie streak to soar to the top of the leaderboard – four birdies in five holes inspiring a championship-winning final-round 67 in his 87th career start.

Burns, who entered the final round of a Tour event inside the top three for the sixth time since the start of last season – tied with Jordan Spieth, finished 22 under at the Country Club of Jackson.

Fellow Americans Nick Watney (65) – who was eyeing his first win since 2012 – and Cameron Young (68) ended the tournament in a share of second spot.

Henrik Norlander (64), Hayden Buckley (66), Andrew Landry (66) and Trey Mullinax (68) were a stroke further back at 20 under.

Norlander posted a bogey-free round to tie his career low on Tour, marking the fourth time he has done so after the 2013 Sony Open in Hawaii, 2016 Travelers Championship and 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Sahith Theegala was the overnight leader, but the American rookie had to settle for a share of eighth position after a tough day.

Theegala posted a one-under-par 71 as he fell seven spots to be 19 under, three shots adrift of Burns.
