Jalen Brunson scored a season-high 55 points, Karl-Anthony Towns added 30 points and 14 rebounds, and the New York Knicks rallied late to force overtime then beat the Washington Wizards 136-132 on Saturday.
With the victory, the Knicks extended their season-long winning streak to seven games.
Brunson made two baskets and a free throw in the last minute of regulation to force the extra period, then added nine points in overtime.
Brunson was 18 for 31 from the floor and lived at the line all night, making 16 of 17 free throws. He added nine assists.
Justin Champagnie got red-hot in the second half for the Wizards and finished with 31 points on 13-for-15 shooting.
Thunder top depleted Hornets for 10th straight win
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 22 points, Jalen added 20 and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Charlotte Hornets 106-94 to earn their 10th consecutive victory.
With both teams playing without multiple starters due to injury, the Thunder survived one of their worst 3-point shooting performances of the season, going 10 of 38 from deep.
Isaiah Hartenstein had 12 points and 15 rebounds, starting in the place of the injured Chet Holmgren.
Alex Caruso, Cason Wallace and Lu Dort also missed the game for the Thunder.
Miles Bridges scored 19 to be the high-point man for the Hornets, who were without LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.
Davis, Lakers extend Kings’ woes
Anthony Davis had 36 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 132-122 win over the Sacramento Kings, who lost their sixth straight game.
The loss spoilt the Sacramento coaching debut of Doug Christie, who took over interim duties after the Kings fired Mike Brown on Friday.
Sacramento shot 51 percent from the field but were 11 of 40 from 3-point range and had no answer for Davis at the other end of the floor after Domantas Sabonis fouled out.
Davis scored his 36 points on just 16 field goal attempts, going 11 of 13 from the free throw line. The Lakers, who were without LeBron James due to an illness, played through Davis all night.
De’Aaron Fox had 29 points and 12 assists for the Kings in the losing effort, while DeMar DeRozan scored an efficient 25 in one of his better games of the season.
