Astro’s esports and gaming entertainment arm, eGG Network, took its first step into the universe of non-fungible tokens (NFT) through a partnership with Buddy Beater by Quinzy, a game studio based in Singapore.

Buddy Beater, a 2D animation multiplayer battle royale game, will officially launch in May 2022 and is designed based on a play-to-earn system on the Ethereum chain where players can have fun and earn at the same time.

Through the new partnership, gamers can look out for eGG Network in-game items and collectible assets.

Nicholas John, Astro's Head of Sports, said, “We’re excited to take our first venture into the blockchain and NFT space through this partnership. The technology is at its infancy, and we see potential for it to grow while exploring it together with our gaming audience and talents through an entertaining game like Buddy Beater.”

Noppasorn Sansanee, CEO of Quinzy, added: “It is our pleasure to partner with eGG Network, one of the biggest esports broadcast media. We believe that Buddy Beater can grow big with the strength of our partners.”

From now till 25 April 2022, interested gamers can register for its whitelist for a chance to be part of the distribution of Buddy Beater avatars, which are valuable NFTs needed to participate in the game.

The developers affirmed that it would be a sustainable and fairly distributed game with no ICO, no pre-sale, and no Airdrop.

A total of 18,888 avatars are up for grabs, which would be minted at 0.08 ETH (excluding gas fees) on 3 May 2022.
