The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) announced on Monday that Astro would once again be broadcasting the Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL).

Returning for its second season this year, the professional futsal league is scheduled to kick off on March 14 until September 26, with Astro Arena and Stadium Astro showing selected matches live.

"After enjoying a successful first season on Astro Arena, we are pleased to be back on board for the MPFL and continue to cater to futsal fans in Malaysia.

"With more teams joining this season, the competition will surely be more exciting, so make sure to catch it live on Astro platforms," said Lee Choong Khay, Astro's Chief of Sports.

Following a positive reception last year, when Selangor MAC pipped Pahang Rangers to the league title by seven points, the FAM decided to expand the league and add four new teams, namely Sarawak, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan and KPM-PST Mustangs.

The top eight of the 12-team league qualify for the inaugural Malaysia Futsal Cup at the end of the year.
