After two medal-less days at the 2022 Asian Games, Malaysia broke the duck thanks to Asnawi Iqbal Adam on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old collected a net point of 42 from 11 races to finish third in the boy's ICLA4 event, joining Thailand's Weka Bhanubandh and Singapore's Isaac Goh on the podium.

Fellow sailing athlete Tengku Nurani Ezaty Tengku Khairudeen later doubled Malaysia’s delight on the same day as she pipped India’s Ishwariya Ganesh in the women’s RS:X event and bagged another bronze for the national contingent.

Thailand's Siripon Ngam Kaewduang and Hong Kong's Ngai Wan Yan came first and second respectively in the event.
