Malaysian bowlers Rafiq Ismail, Tan Chye Chern and Ahmad Muaz Fishol claimed a silver medal in the men's trio event at the 2018 Asian Games on Thursday.
They knocked down 4235 pins to finish ahead of Singapore (4226 pins), while Japan's Shusaku Asato, Tomoyuki Sasaki and Shogo Wada, the same trio who won gold in 2014, retained the top honour by scoring 4344 pins.
In doing so, they defended Malaysia's silver won by Tan, Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek and Zulmazran Zulkifli in Incheon four years ago.
It was also Malaysia's 30th overall Asian Games medal in bowling, and second in Indonesia after Esther Cheah, Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman and Syaidatul Afifah Badrul won gold in the women's trio event.
Malaysia's other men's trio of Syafiq, Adrian Ang and Liew Kien Liang finished ninth.
