Malaysian swimmer Phee Jinq En was fourth-tenths of a second short from winning a medal as she finished fifth in the women's 50m breaststroke final at the 2018 Asian Games on Thursday.
In her second final in Indonesia, having finished eighth in the women's 100m breaststroke event, the 20-year-old clocked 31.64s, failing to match her earlier feat of setting a new national record.
Japanese swimmer Satomi Suzuki successfully defended her gold medal in new Asian Games record time of 30.83s, while compatriot Miho Teramura initially finished second before being disqualified.
The disqualification saw Singapore's Roanne Ho, who set a new national record of 31.23s at the same time, get promoted to silver and China's Feng Jungyan (31.24s) receive bronze.
