The women’s atomweight division is fast becoming one of the most exciting weight classes in ONE Championship.

Not only has it been home to some of the finest battles in the organization’s history, but over the years, it has evolved into a division jam-packed with talent.

Let’s take a look at four female atomweight mixed martial artists you need to know.

Angela Lee

“Unstoppable” Angela Lee transformed herself from an unknown athlete to the superstar of the division in only 24 months.

After amassing five slick back-to-back finishes, the Evolve MMA representative defeated Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi for the inaugural ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title in May 2016.

Lee defended her gold on four occasions, the latest being against “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan in October 2019. The match was billed as the sport’s greatest female battle, and it certainly lived up to the hype.

Lee’s tremendous growth comes down to her unbreakable warrior spirit, martial arts-loving parents, husband Bruno Pucci, and brother, ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee.

Itsuki Hirata

Still only 20 years old, Itsuki “Strong Heart Fighter” Hirata has taken the division by storm since making her debut in October 2019.

The Japanese athlete has picked up three consecutive wins over highly-talented opponents, including Angelie Sabanal, Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, and Nyrene “Neutron Bomb” Crowley.

With an eye for a finish – proven by her 100 percent finishing rate and 6-0 record – the stars seem to be shining bright on this young talent.

Could she challenge the queen of the division soon?

Jihin Radzuan

Malaysia’s Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan has amassed a loyal following since her promotional debut in March 2018.

She announced her arrival with a sublime triangle choke win over one of India’s top martial artists, Puja Tomar, in front of her Malaysian fans.

Then, she followed that up with two more hard-earned victories over Jenny “Lady GoGo” Huang and Priscilla “Thathie” Hertati Lumban Gaol.

With a background in wushu, kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the Ultimate MMA Academy star is always prepared to face whatever challenge lies in front of her.

After a rocky 2019, the athlete is ready to bounce back and scale her way up the charts.

Denice Zamboanga

Denice “The Menace Fairtex” Zamboanga thrives under challenges, as displayed in two brilliant performances over Jihin and Yamaguchi in the last couple of months.

Though she was the underdog, the Filipina illustrated her courage and skill set to extend her undefeated record to 7-0.

Following her latest victory, ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced that she will be next in line to challenge Lee for the golden strap.
