Pengurus Besar, Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM), Michelle Chai, mengesahkan pemain profesional negara, Zulfadli Zulkifli, akan membuat rayuan kepada Persekutuan Badminton Dunia (BWF) dan tidak membawa kes mengatur perlawanan ke Mahkamah Timbangtara Sukan (CAS).
BAM mengesahkan masih belum menerima apa-apa perkembangan terkini daripada BWF selepas genap sebulan Zulfadli menghantar rayuan kes mengatur perlawanan berhubung hukuman gantung selama 20 tahun yang dikenakan ke atasnya.
Setakat ini, pemain berusia 25 tahun itu kekal dengan rayuan kepada BWF dan BAM tidak menerima sebarang maklumat kes itu akan dibawa ke CAS yang melibatkan kos yang tinggi.
Sepertimana BWF mengambil masa yang lama untuk menentukan hukuman ke atas Zulfadli dan Tan Chun Seang selepas sesi pendengaran Februari lalu, Michelle tidak menolak tempoh yang panjang juga harus dilalui mereka sebelum tindakan seterusnya dilakukan berhubung rayuan berkenaan.
"Untuk membawa rayuan ke CAS, kami perlu melihat kepada langkah yang harus diambil," katanya.
"Jika melihat berdasarkan sebelum ini, rayuan ini mungkin memakan masa yang panjang sebelum ia dapat dilaksanakan."
