Lee Zii Jia got to know his Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) opponent a little better, having trained with Angus Ng Ka Long these past few days before jetting off to Dubai to defend his title.

Zii Jia was in Hong Kong training with Angus, whom he is due to face in the opening round of the Asian event starting next week (April 25-30).

“Had a good time and nice company in Hong Kong. Here we go next, Dubai,” read the caption from Team LZJ's social media account.

The Malaysian should face a stern test against the Hong Kong star, who beat him at the Indonesian Masters in January and already had a title and a runner-up finish this year.

Zii Jia was in Hong Kong to train with the rest of the Hong Kong men’s singles team that included Lee Cheuk Yiu, who is also in a Malaysia vs Hong Kong first-round clash with Ng Tze Yong.

Zii Jia looked sharp in training in Hong Kong as he posted a video of him expertly finding the line through a crisp baseline smash.

The training drills was conducted by Malaysian coach Wong Tat Meng, who is now Hong Kong’s head coach.
