Pemain perseorangan wanita negara, Ho Yen Mei, tidak terkilan apabila tidak diturunkan dalam kesemua perlawanan Malaysia sepanjang kempen Kejohanan Badminton Berpasukan Campuran Asia di Vietnam, minggu lalu.
Yen Mei akur dengan kehendak jurulatihnya, Rony Agustinus, yang memilih seorang lagi pemain, Lee Ying Ying, untuk menggalas kesemua tiga perlawanan negara dalam acara perseorangan wanita.
Baginya, dia tidak kecil hati dan menganggap jurulatih berhak membuat pemilihan yang terbaik untuk berentap dengan lawan.
Cabaran Malaysia dalam Kejohanan Badminton Berpasukan Campuran Asia tamat di peringkat suku akhir apabila disingkirkan China 3-0.
"Semua pemain bermain hampir sama, cuma kami perlu fikirkan untuk pasukan -- siapa yang lebih baik. Mereka hanya perlu bermain," katanya.
Yen Mei juga bertekad untuk meningkatkan lagi gaya permainan demi memikat barisan kejurulatihan agar dapat beraksi dalam kejohanan penting sebegini pada masa akan datang.
Selain itu, dia juga mempunyai misi peribadi untuk memperbaiki ranking dunianya yang kini berada di tangga 57 untuk ke-40 terbaik sebelum hujung tahun ini.
"Kerana ranking dunia saya adalah ke-57 pada ketika ini, saya sudah berbincang dengan jurulatih dan saya akan menyertai Cabaran Antarabangsa Orleans dan Terbuka Poland. Saya akan rebut gelaran di sana," tambahnya.
