Lee Zii Jia will not rest on his laurels despite reaching the World Tour Finals semi-finals, as he prepares for another big clash against China’s Li Shi Feng on Friday.

The Malaysian confirmed his last four berth after a clinical 21-14, 21-19 over Denmark’s Anders Antonsen on Thursday.

But despite posting two wins on the bounce, Lee is aware of the test he will face from Li, who faces a must-win match in front of his home crowd.

“Everyone here is a top player and all of them are eager to win. The ambitions and intensity levels are high for sure. I am satisfied with my performance so far.

“Against Antonsen, I was ready for a tough game. He has had a good run after the Paris Olympics and the match intensity was high,” he said.

Lee aced the 47-minute encounter against the world number two by dominating the front and mid-court in the first game, and showed commendable fighting spirit to clinch the second game right at the end after trailing for most parts.

He faces Li who revived his hopes for a semis berth after beating Chou Tien-chen on Thursday.

If Lee wins, he will go into the last four as group champion.

It has been a good outing for the Malaysian contingent so far, with national pairs Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik also sealing their passage to the knockout rounds.
