The Australian Open runners-up' reward is a semi-final clash against four-time world champions Hendra Setiawan-Mohammad Ahsan on Saturday.

As for Korea Open champions Tan-Lai, they recorded a 21-17, 22-20 win over Thai pair Supak Jomkoh-Supissara Paewsampan, booking a meeting with China's Zheng Si Wei-Huang Ya Qiong for a place in the mixed doubles final.

Their success in reaching the semi-finals was good news for the Malaysian contingent after world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, French Open winners Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah and world number 24 Vivian Hoo-Lim Chiew Sien all ended their WTF campaign without a win.

Mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon also crashed out as they had to concede a walkover due to Goh's illness.
