Beregu wanita negara, Vivian Hoo, akur dengan kehendak bekas gandingannya, Woon Khe Wei, yang meluahkan hasrat untuk mengundurkan diri daripada kem kebangsaan.
Kedua-dua pemain itu pernah digandingkan selama 10 tahun, namun Khe Wei memilih untuk meninggalkan kem kebangsaan, hujung tahun ini.
Dia sudah pun menghantar surat pengunduran rasmi kepada Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM), Rabu lalu.
Vivian adalah individu terawal mengetahui keputusan Khe Wei itu dan memdedahkan ia berpunca daripada kecederaan lutut yang menimpa pemain itu yang memaksanya berehat selama 11 bulan.
"Jika bukan disebabkan kecederaan yang menimpanya, kami mungkin akan beraksi bersama-sama dalam Sukan Olimpik Tokyo 2020.
"Ia diluar kawalan kami dan saya tidak menjangkakan dia akan tercedera," katanya.
Pasangan itu pernah dilabel sebagai beregu wanita nombor satu negara.
Tanpa Khe Wei, Vivian masih berazam untuk melayakkan diri ke Sukan Olimpik Tokyo 2020 bersama gandingan barunya, Yap Cheng Wen.
"Saya berharap dapat membawa semangat Khe Wei untuk layak ke Sukan Olimpik.
"Saya akan memastikan kemaraan bersama Cheng Wen ke temasya itu," tambahnya.
