The Malaysian contingent wrapped up their Uber Cup campaign with an expected 5-0 demolition of minnows Egypt on Tuesday to end their tournament on a winning note.

Having lost to Denmark (2-3) and Thailand (1-4) in their first two encounters, the final group tie was simply a completion of fixture and an opportunity to give some of their untested shuttlers a runout.

Myisha Khairul, who played as third singles against Denmark, started as the forefront this time around and she gave the team the lead with a 21-5, 21-19 victory over Doha Hany.

Tan Zhing Yi made it 2-0 after beating Nour Ahmed Youssri 21-12, 21-14, before Chan Wei Tse made it 3-0 with a 21-16, 21-16 success over Hana Tarek.

Low Yeen Yuan-Valeree Siow, who took over from Pearly Tan-M Thinaah as the first women's doubles, notched the fourth point with a 21-6, 21-10 win over Jana Ashraf-Jana Hesham.

Anna Ching-Teoh Mei Xing made it a clean sweep by beating Youssri-Tarek 21-5, 21-4.

The result meant Malaysia finished third in their group, with Denmark-Thailand battling it out to become group champions.
