National shuttler Ng Tze Yong has urged fans to stop sending death threats to one Malaysian fan who is understood to have disrupted his concentration during the French Open semi-finals against Li Shi Feng.

The fan in question, Darence Chan had apologized to Ng in an Instagram posting for disrupting the shuttler with a “Are you sleeping” comment during his match against the Chinese last week.

He later claimed that comment was not received well by fans, some of whom took it a step too far.

“I hope there can be peace on both ends, as a lot of fans are slandering and giving me death threats,” Chan told the shuttler.

Ng replied: “I accept your apology but just don’t do it anymore. To all the fans please, stop sending him death threats.”

The world number 15 is on a gruelling European calendar which sees him competing in his fourth event at the ongoing Hylo Open.

Ng is set to face Germany’s Max Weisskirchen in the first round whom he is easily expected to beat on paper.

The shuttler will fancy his chances to go far in this Super 300 event.

Seeded fourth, the Johor-born has a favourable ride to the semi-finals on paper where he could face Hong Kong’s Lee Cheuk Yiu.
