Ng Tze Yong and Soniia Cheah clinched the men's and women's singles titles at the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) Invitational Championships on Sunday with straight-set victories over their opponents.
In fact, all the victors were triumphant in straight-set victories.
First up to seal victory was Cheah, who lived up to billing with a 21-16, 25-23 triumph over Eoon Qi Xuan.
The world number 29 had her work cut out en route to the women's singles title after SEA Games champion S. Kisona and former world junior champion Goh Jin Wei missed out through injuries.
Tokyo Olympics prospects Chow Mei Kuan-Lee Meng Yean were next to take the women's doubles title with a 21-14, 21-17 triumph over Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah in 38 minutes.
The mixed doubles saw Tan Kian Ming-Lai Pei Jing overcome independent opponents Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying 21-10, 22-20 in 36 minutes.
Ng then made relatively light work out of Leong Jun Hao to clinch the men's singles title courtesy of a 21-13, 21-8 win.
Leong, who won last week's Division 2 title, had played 11 matches prior to this and had been carrying a right hip injury in this tournament.
The final match of the day saw Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik thump Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi 21-14, 21-18 to clinch the men's doubles category.
The singles winners received RM5,000, while the doubles pairs took home RM7,500.
