Tze Yong out of India Open after suffering muscle tear injury at Malaysia Open
Ng Tze Yong will withdraw from the India Open next week after he was revealed to have a muscle tear injury suffered at the Malaysia Open that is set to rule him out for at least two weeks.
“Ng has a muscle tear injury and he will be withdrawn from the India Open. The coaches will assess his situation before deciding if he can compete at the Indonesia Masters after that (Jan 23-28),” said Badminton Association of Malaysia secretary-general Kenny Goh.
The world number 15 withdrew just 13-minutes into his opening match against Koki Watanabe on Wednesday after feeling the effects of several overhead smashes, as he trailed the Japanese 8-12.

Ng underwent further tests at the National Sports Institute on Friday, where the extent of his injury was confirmed.
If he recovers in time, the national men’s singles shuttler could still feature at the upcoming Badminton Asia Team Championships (Feb 13-18).
Ng had been working on his physical fitness after working with Lee Chong Wei’s former physical trainer during the off-season last month.
