Chou Tien-chen and Goh Jin Wei proved among the stars to help Ampang Jaya Badminton Club (AJBC) secure the 2022 Malaysia Purple League following a 9-2 victory over Petaling Badminton Club (PBC) on Sunday.

In the final held at the Arena Of Stars in Genting, Chou delivered the first point of AJBC with a 11-10, 11-5, 9-11, 11-6 victory over French veteran Brice Leverdez.

The Chinese Taipei star had lost in the semis against Lee Chiek Yu, but turned in a virtouso performance to make amends.

Goh then doubled that advantage with a battling 11-9.11-6, 10-11, 11-9 over Pai Yu-Po to maintain her perfect record in this tournament.

Indonesian pair Moh Reza-Sabar Karyaman sealed the title with a straightforward 11-9, 11-4, 11-6 success over Goh V Shem-Low Juan Shen.

AJBC snagged a cool RM200,000 prize purse for their victory, while PBC took home RM100,000 as runner-up.

Puchong United Badminton Club finished third with a 10-5 win over Sena Badminton Club in an earlier match, with Tan Kian Meng-Goh Liu Ying sealing the win.
