Lee Zii Jia turned in a dominant performance to win the Thailand Open men's singles title after a one-sided 21-11, 21-10 victory over Angus Ng Ka Long in Bangkok on Sunday.

In capturing this Super 500 event, the Kedahan collects his first title of the year since he last won the Arctic Open in October last year, while also reclaiming the title he won back here in 2022.

This is also Zii Jia's fifth World Tour title of his career, adding to his Chinese Taipei Open, All-England, Thailand Open and Arctic Open previous win.

Of all his final triumphs, this was the easiest, with the contest ending after 34-minutes.

Lee bagged the opening game, thanks to an incredible streak where he collected 11 consecutive points from 5-7 to 16-7 which paved the way for a comfortable win.

Not surprisingly, most of his winners came from his potent smashes from the mid and back court where Ng opened those opportunities for him.

Lee continued to dominate proceedings in the second game, racing to a 11-4 lead as his Hong Kong opponent struggled to contain the hard-hitting Malaysian.

Ng's misery was complete soon enough as Lee cruised to his first victory of the year in fine fashion.

The world number 10 collects $31,500 (RM147,671) in prize money for his efforts, but more importantly this priceless victory will give him a massive motivation to replicate the same quality at next week's Malaysia Masters.
